Silverfish are downright nasty and I can understand someone racing out to their local pest control company in order to get rid of them. However, you do not need a professional company, nor do you need to shell out hundreds of bucks to get rid of these insects.

As you can see, you don't need to fumigate your home or have some major work done to it to get rid of these critters. I advise starting with a botanical insecticide powder. Clean your home and put any paper well out of sight. If you can, obtain some traps and put them down near the cracks. It should not take too long for you to notice a marked decrease in these pests.
